Happy Holiday’s to everyone in the Shepherding All God’s Creatures blog group! We pray God’s peace is with each one of you!
Many people we know, maybe you, may not be experiencing circumstances that are peaceful; perhaps those circumstances may be quite painful. We are praying that all in this group, no matter what life may hold at this time, will rely upon the Father and upon Jesus for the peace that He brings that is not contingent upon our circumstances, but is instead the peace that He will give us when we submit to Him all our worldly cares, everything that is important to us, that we cling to – all of our minds and our hearts.
Paul said in Philippians that he had “learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” That he knew “what it is to be in need, and…what it is to have plenty.” He “learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” That secret?… “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Now the pain may be so deep and the circumstances such that it may seem impossible to envision letting go and letting God, and you may not know how – I’ve been there, so I know those feelings.
I encourage everyone to take the time and listen to “The Peace That Changes the World.” This sermon offers practical answers for all of us struggling to apply Paul’s words in our lives.
One day He is returning and all that we know is wrong in the world will be made right, will be returned to the state of eternal Shalom which was what God intended for all His creation. The animals too will be restored along with the human relationship we were supposed to have with them, and a garden oasis will again be ours for those who hold fast to the Savior until the very end.
Right now, whatever may be happening in life, rest in His presence, in knowing that He is God and He cares about all that is going on in all our lives, in all of His creation. He is working persistently and fervently, He never sleeps or slumbers, to make good out of what the powers and principalities mean for evil, out of what people do who have fallen for Satan’s lies and who need the Savior’s love as much as any of us do. Praise Him for our Savior is born – He is victorious and has made the way for our salvation! Our Wonderful and Marvelous God loves us, He will never forsake us! Let these thoughts bring joy!
