Lent Reflections

With this Lent season now upon us (March 5th marking Ash Wednesday), for those who celebrate this season through Easter Sunday, we will be posting some articles and meditations about Lent from time to time.

For those who may not have been brought up in a tradition that celebrates Lent and would like to know more about the subject, there is a lot of information online, or go here.

This is a beautiful meditation, we hope you enjoy it!

A MEDITATION

Leader: Rev 2v7      LISTEN TO ME, SAYS THE LORD:

Acts 14v15      I am the living God who created heaven and earth and sea and

Genesis Ch 1      everything in them.  It was I who created for you a world of

Genesis Ch 3      beauty, and all that came to be was alive with My Life.  I gave

     My earth and My animal creatures into your hands for your loving

     care …, but you rejected My ways and chose disobedience

     and death.

Congregation:      Lord, how have we disobeyed You?

 

Leader:      LISTEN TO ME, SAYS THE LORD:

Jeremiah 12v4,10,11      I sent prophets to warn you of the fragility of the earth but you

Jeremiah 14      continue to live in greed and to ravage your children’s inheritance.

Isaiah 57v17      You lay waste the habitats of my wild animal creatures

Proverbs 12v10      and you use unrighteously those animals who depend upon you

Isaiah 59v3      for care.  In hatred you have sought and found the means to

     destroy each other, and all the creatures upon My earth.  What

     have you done!

Congregation:      Lord, how we have disobeyed You!

 

Leader:      LISTEN TO ME, SAYS THE LORD:

John 3v16      I sent My only Son, My Beloved, to show you how to live and

John 19      to show you how to love.  You killed Him, as I knew you would.

Revelation 3v20      Do not reject Him still.  Then, by My Holy Spirit, you will know

Revelation 4v11      the love I have for every creature.

Congregation:      Lord, how should we obey You?

 

Leader:      LISTEN TO ME, SAYS THE LORD:

Revelation 21v5-7      I AM your God and Jesus Christ is Risen.  In His love and

Colossians 1v19      forgiveness for you upon the Cross He has reconciled My whole

Matthew 25      creation to Me.  He will come to you again as Judge, then all My

Revelation 5      creatures will worship Me in love and in Life.  Be My hands and

1 Corinthians 15v58      preach My Gospel.

     Mark 16v15

Matthew 13v14,15      HEAR ME, SAYS THE LORD, AND UNDERSTAND.
