It has been awhile since any of us posted an article.  We did not want anyone to think we were going away!  We very much are not!  We had been posting pretty regularly once a week, or at least every two.  This message is to update all of you and to reassure you we will be posting again soon!

Roslyne is quite busy this summer as one of her daughters is getting married this month!  Marcello has been very busy as well with his University studies and exams.  And I have been quite preoccupied with a sick kitty, Hazel.
She took ill in late April; we are just now figuring out what is likely the cause of it in order for it to be addressed, and are praying it is not too late.  She has been up and then down again, not eating like she should be eating, and then not eating at all.  At first we thought pancreatitis; but there is also a lump on her leg.  After several go rounds with treatment addressing pancreatitis, trying to get her to eat to improve her strength so that the tumor can be surgically removed, we’re now being told by a specialist vet that likely the tumor itself is the cause of all the issues, and so removal is now quite urgent.  I am hoping for this surgery to happen this week yet….

I am asking for prayer, that she will be strong enough to undergo surgery, come out the other side with flying colors, and for healing thereafter.  And prayer for Ros and Marcello, as well, with the events in their lives.
Thank you!  At this point, I am unable to anticipate when a blog post will be added.  I have some writing in the works, and, as soon as we are able to get through these bumpy spots, whichever way they go, will be back to finish up the piece I started and get it posted.  Ros and Marcello cannot anticipate quite yet either when they will be able to post a piece.

If any of you have some topic you would like us to write about, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to address the topic or issue.  I have had someone for example ask me about some difficult scripture, Romans 14 and 1 Corinthians 8.  At some point, I would like to write about these passages and animal welfare issues.  I think many of us hear from other Christians who are not abreast of animal welfare issues, who erroneously think that God gave us dominion over the animal kingdom to do what we want with them; and that since God said we could eat animals, they think nothing more of it, and can perhaps come across callously toward the issues.  I would like to provide some suggestions at some point for handling difficult situations like this.
I shall leave you all for now with a photo of dear sweet Hazel!  Thanks for reading, and for all the prayers that are offered on behalf of Ros, Marcello, Hazel and me!

My Sweet Hazel
Blessings to all of you, and thank you for following our blog!   ~Kathy

Jane, thank you so much for your message, and apologies for the delay in replying. The encouragement is welcome and wonderful, thanks, and we are glad you found our blog! We hope to inspire other Christians to be a voice in their church congregations for animals, encouraging faith communities everywhere to begin talking about the issues with stewardship, creating the theology to support animal welfare causes, and to begin educating others about animal welfare issues and what all of us can do about them.
Thanks again! We hope you will share our blog and message widely, too! God bless, and if there is anything you would like us to address or write about, feel free to share.
      Kathy
